WWE 2K21 allegedly canceled; Another WWE
A former employee claims he has the insider information.
Last years WWE 2K20 was nothing less than a catastrophe. The game was started in a broken state, which was even after the bad standards of the franchise of shocking poor quality. Even the parent company Take-Two Interactive expressed itself at the overall poor quality of the publication and the impact on sales. It now seems that this years title could be canceled, and maybe something is in preparation.
Justin Deeper, a former writer for the WWE 2K series, took on his official YouTube to tell people that he had heard that this years version was tacitly canceled. Apparently there is another WWE title this year, but he does not go into detail if it is not another title than the 2K series and another developer. He claims that after the separation of Duke, many problems for Visual Concepts are to be solved and that production is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While Deeper is no longer working on the series or on a connected company, he claims to speak with people who actively work on the franchise.
As always with rumors of this kind, take it with a granule salt. Nothing sounds plausible here, but there are a few red flags. First and foremost, he points to the lack of talks about a new game at this years WrestleMania as a sign of a cancellation, but WWE later begins with the marketing of her games, closer to the Summer slam event. It is also unlikely that another title can be published this year, unless he is very small. After the catastrophe of 2K20 It can be the best if this is true. A year break could make a big difference.
